it pays to read books!
Posted by yeyen05 at 4:38 am in living life

Reading books is really helpful. But honestly, I don’t like reading books, especially about fiction. I wonder how my classmates fell in loved to read dense books such as Twilight, New Moon, Harry Potters, Angels and Demons, and etc. And I wonder how they can still afford to read such 500 pages-book when they’re even panicking to pull up their grades on their major subjects. Some say, it’s just for fun. While others say, it’s their way of relief from stress. Well, for me, it would add more stress whenever I’ll read such novel books because it took me time to understand every line of the story. I admit, I have poor reading comprehension. And I can’t deny, I have poor vocabularies as well.

This is why I can truly say, it pays to read books! But instead of reading those seried-massive volume books, I’ll choose to read comprehensive text books. Especially with topics related to my course. It helps me to learn more. It ables me to review the lessons I have learned in the class and advances my knowledge as well. Reading books may change your life!

PARANOID
Posted by yeyen05 at 2:19 am in living life

“Why are you whispering? Stop looking at me! What are you saying? You’re plotting against me, aren’t you? Yes, that’s what you are trying to do! But no, I know what you’re up to, and you can’t hurt me!”

Screaming, yelling and looking sideways, backwards and everywhere to anyone and everyone, suspicious of all that surrounds him. You probably have one or two classmates lying around in your very own classroom with this kind of personality. They’re always blaming others, always asking questions and suspicious at everyone, even if you were just whispering to your friend. I mean, we know that Filipinos are intense gossipers, but not everything is about them you know!

Individuals with paranoid personality disorder have been found to be more common in males and are very untrusting; that they fear confiding information to anyone because it might be used against them. They’re the ones who always seem to hold grudges against people, even for the smallest of reasons, and they become angry and threatening towards the reaction of others. They have an either blunted effect or is someone who is very serious, blessed with both the gift of silence and hypersensitivity  to things.

care for your feet
Posted by yeyen05 at 9:18 pm in living life

My mom always taught me how to walk in a decent way. She also trained me to keep my feet clean as always. That’s why I got easily get mad whenever somebody stepped on my feet, especially when it is left with dirt even just very small amount of dust. But it is inevitable as a young girl to make sometimes my clothing dirty or even my shoes. And so when my mom bought my first lovely boots, I never stopped liking it. Since then on, I always wear Wolverine boots even with my school uniform, going to church and attending parties. sssssss1.JPG Read the rest of this entry…

gone are the youth 2
Posted by yeyen05 at 9:29 pm in living life

The youth today is endowed with much potential brought about by advancement in genetics, education, and character formation. It is just an unfortunate truth that much of these potentials are not utilized. Why is this happening to the nation? It is just that FEAR is always behind the hopes of making a difference. There is always a fear of being rejected, being ashamed, or failing in whatever steps we plan to take. That is why more and more young people become self-centered and they no longer think of society. On the other hand, why is it that there is still a handful of the youth who rally on the streets - hoping that their voices would be heard? Rallying on the top of your lungs to call for changes is not necessarily the ideal way. What we are trying to imply is that why can’t we, who did not choose to voice out our concerns, do a little to help these people? Our brothers and sisters, who have taken the  bold stand in the hope of succeeding in changing the bitter lives we are having. Read the rest of this entry…

gone are the youth 1
Posted by yeyen05 at 8:51 pm in living life

“Where are the youth who will consecrate their golden hours, their illusions, and enthusiasm for the welfare of the nation? Where are they who would generously shed their blood to wash away so much shame, so much crime, so much abomination? Pure and spotless the victim has to be for the holocaust to be acceptable! Where are you, youth who will incarnate in yourselves the vigor of life that has fled from our veins, the purity of ideas that have soiled in our minds and the fire of enthusiasm that has been extinguished in our hearts? We wait for you, O youth! Come, for we await you!”

So spoke Fr. Florentino in the last chapter of Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere. A line seeking for the youth, who are and who forever will be the only hope for the nation. The question is: have we ceased thinking about our social responsibility for our nation’s welfare? Have we surrendered the fight to free our nation from all the mishaps it has been undertaking or have we already raised the white flag and started to become useless? Read the rest of this entry…

Posted by yeyen05 at 2:23 am in living life

Nowadays, the world has become very polluted. We cause air pollution directly through our use of electricity, fuels and transportation. You cannot escape air pollution, not even in your own home. There are two causes of air pollution…by natural and the consumers. The natural causes of air pollution are volcanic eruptions, and forest fires which send smoke, ashes and, gases into the atmosphere.
