best tooth care happens at home
Posted by yeyen05 at 7:17 pm in medical

It’s been a year that I haven’t visit my dentist because I don’t have enough budget for it. In helping my teeth stay healthy, I do follow some basic tips of tooth care. But why do we have to visit on a dentist? The main reason for going to the dentist regularly, or in every 6 months, is prevention. We need to help prevent from tooth decay, gum disease, and other disorders that put the health of your teeth and mouth at risk. But we should know also the basic ways on how to take care of our teeth. We don’t just rely on a dentist to help us with mouth problems.

First, we should know what kind of foods we are eating. Eating sugar is a major cause of tooth decay. Keeping our teeth healthy is when or how we eat. What happens if we frequently eat sugary foods or drink sodas, the enamel that protects your teeth is constantly exposed to acids.

Second, we should brush our teeth two minutes twice a day. Use the right size and shape of our toothbrush to minimize damage to teeth and gums. Imagine how your teeth would look and feel if you did not brush them daily. Hahahaha…But brushing alone is not enough, because it won’t remove the plaque and particles of food between our teeth, under the gumline, or under braces. We’ll need to floss these spaces at least once a day. Be careful also of the toothpaste we are using, it must contain fluoride and ingredients that fight plaque and tartar. Fluoride helps keep teeth strong, especially in kids and teens.

And the best way to help your teeth healthy is to visit the dentist. But we all know that a single visit to the dentist can already cost at least two hundred dollars and if you do not have that kind of money in your pocket, you will not get the kind of dental care that you need. Getting discount dental plan can serve us, costumer, better because it provides significant savings on members’ dental care needs. DentalPlans.com can give you the best value of your hard earned money. And always remember the most important part of tooth care happens at home. Brushing and flossing properly, along with regular dental checkups, can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

fried ice cream
Posted by yeyen05 at 11:15 pm in living life

Yesterday, I was waiting for a call. A call from a certain company where I applied. I underwent to final interview. The interviewer told me that they gonna call us yesterday morning to know if they can endorse us to the final level “verbal examination.” It was already 1pm and yet i didn’t receive any phone calls. I was starting to think again that I failed! I was disappointed because I know I really gave best during the interview and the interviewers even told me that they were very impressed to me. I stayed in my bedroom and cry while thinking of the problems I have. I haven’t eaten my breakfast and lunch. When I realized that my stomach is starving, I decided to eat anyway. After I ate my lunch, I planned to go the SM mall. I went there having no plans what I really want to do. When I saw a “Fried Ice” stall in the mall, it came to my mind that I have to eat something cold to make me feel better. Even if that ice cream was kinda very expensive, I still bought the ice cream. Then I ate alone, then continue wandering about the place. It’s been a month that I haven’t visited the SM mall. And I noticed that there are a lot of changes with the stores.

As I continue roaming around, I realized that I already reached the newest extension of the mall called “The Northwing.” I was fascinated with the new place, smell and the structures. I saw a newly opened book store with so many books on sale. And then I reflected on the awarded pictures displayed at the show room taken by the famous photographers. And it so happen, there was a band preparing their instruments on the stage. So I sat there right in front of them. And when they started performing, I liked their type of music. They were really creative. They almost played all kinds of music just by using one guitar, percussion, beat box, flute, sax and shaker. The band was only composed of five members but when you just listen to them they’re like twice more playing. I almost forgot my worries… and thanks to them that they were able to soothe my mood that they.

While watching them, I didn’t noticed that I’ve been already staying there for almost three hours. And it was already 7 pm! I have to go home right away because it takes 40 minutes to ride till I reached our house. But before I left the mall, I tried to call the hot line of that certain company I applied. I inquired them if I passed the final interview. And you know what answer I heard? “Yes, you passed the final interview and just wait for a call when will your verbal examination will be.” Wow! I was so surprised with that! So I went home with a big big smile because of the good news I received.

There are three things that helped me feel better yesterday, the fried ice cream, the music band and the call.

Bhutan

Bhutan is the only place in the Himalayas where the Vajrayana Buddhist culture survives intact. However, the fall of other kingdoms that represent this vibrant culture, such as Tibet, Sikkim and Ladakh, and the encroachment of globalization make the survival of this tiny Buddhist nation increasingly fragile and poignant. In Bhutan, trekkers will find an alternative to the overcrowded trails of Nepal. Serious photographers will be impressed with the country’s traditional architecture and abundant wildlife. (Herds of yaks graze in its high-country valleys, and rare snow leopards, blue sheep and black-necked cranes can sometimes be spotted in its farthest reaches.) Others can find pleasure in the elaborate tsechus (religious festivals) that are held throughout the year at various dzongs (fortress monasteries). Nearly everyone who visits Bhutan will be awed by the unsurpassed majesty of the Himalayas.

But it’s neither easy nor cheap to visit Bhutan, which is tucked in between India, China (Tibet) and Nepal. The government charges all travelers US$200 a day, to which the Bhutanese company may or may not add its operating costs. You will usually get tour prices closer to the government standardized US$200 a day if you are booking directly with a Bhutanese company. If you travel with one of the high-end tour companies based in the West you will end up paying upwards of US$300 to US$400 a day, depending on the company and its reputation. (If you’re traveling alone or in a group of four or fewer, an additional US$40 per day is tacked on.) This makes Bhutan one of the most expensive destinations in the region.

On the brighter side, your trip is usually free of the hassles associated with travel in other countries in this region, as the fee covers lodging, food, tours and comfortable transportation in well-maintained buses, SUVs (sport-utility vehicles) or cars. The fee also includes a guide with whom you can plan your itinerary.

What shall I do with all the days and hours
That must be counted ere I see thy face?
How shall I charm the interval that lowers
Between this time and that sweet time of grace?

migraine headache
Posted by yeyen05 at 5:45 am in medical

What is a migraine headache?

A migraine headache is a form of vascular headache. Migraine headache is caused by a combination of vasodilatation (enlargement of blood vessels) and the release of chemicals from nerve fibers that coil around the blood vessels. During a migraine attack, the temporal artery enlarges. (The temporal artery is an artery that lies on the outside of the skull just under the skin of the temple.) Enlargement of the temporal artery stretches the nerves that coil around the artery and causes the nerves to release chemicals. The chemicals cause inflammation, pain, and further enlargement of the artery. The increasing enlargement of the artery magnifies the pain.

Migraine attacks commonly activate the sympathetic nervous system in the body. The sympathetic nervous system is often thought of as the part of the nervous system that controls primitive responses to stress and pain, the so-called “fight or flight” response. The increased sympathetic nervous activity in the intestine causes nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Sympathetic activity also delays emptying of the stomach into the small intestine and thereby prevents oral medications from entering the intestine and being absorbed. The impaired absorption of oral medications is a common reason for the ineffectiveness of medications taken to treat migraine headaches. The increased sympathetic activity also decreases the circulation of blood, and this leads to pallor of the skin as well as cold hands and feet. The increased sympathetic activity also contributes to the sensitivity to light and sound sensitivity as well as blurred vision.

Migraine afflicts 28 million Americans, with females suffering more frequently (17%) than males (6%). Missed work and lost productivity from migraine create a significant public burden. Nevertheless, migraine still remains largely undertreated and underdiagnosed. Less than half the sufferers are diagnosed by their doctors.
