Hooked to Prison Break
Posted by yeng at 7:55 pm in people

My husband who usually pushed us to bed at nighttime when the kids and I were too engrossed in a local TV series has become our rival in the tube when RPN 9 started to re run previous season of this popular Hollywood TV series. I didn’t argue since I also wanted my little girl who is already attending her first grade to sleep early as we also have to get up early the next morning. I never really realized how hooked Honey was to this series when she started to call me Sara and I really wondered who the hell Sarah is?

And then he always include the name of Michael and Lincoln in our conversation as if they are some individuals who are our friends and seeing me squint my eyes that would simply tell him that I don’t have an inkling on these people he was talking about, he gave me that sheepish smile and said that they are the characters of the Prison Break and that the exciting thing in it, Michael is now in Panama?!?!?!

My mouth formed a big letter O, I never really knew if that meant that all he said has finally set in my little brain or I just pretended that I fully understood him so as not to offend him. Hehehehe.

And so what I did was sit infornt of him in the tube on night and get to know Micheal and Lincoln, but since I could no longer follow their story, I surf the internet for some rescue to the scenes and stories and even behind the stories that would help me get updated with my my husband’s passion.

And true, I started to be hooked to. I am really looking forward to the fourth season.

Sunday Evening
Posted by yeng at 6:46 am in Uncategorized

Sunday must be the busiest day of the week. All four of us go to school and so we need to prepare everything on Sunday what we need for the whole week ahead of us. Saturday is laundry day and it was really tough on me since doing the laundry is quite heavy for me but I am coping and I live doing it - well, maybe mother just loves to do everything and anything for their children.

I am getting to used to this routine after almost six years of being a mother as we have someone older who helped us around in the house but since we have Tita Bing right now who is younger and who needs the assistance around the house, I see to it that I have to do my share in the chores too.

Sunday evening is ironing night and I love it since the kids would stay beside me doing their favorite stuff that is writing anything on their notebooks. Since the older girl is already in the first grade she could work independently and would just write anything she remembers in her lessons. While the little boy will just scramble

Her dilemma
Posted by yeng at 6:21 am in kid's quotes

My daughter didn’t like her new school. Well, that was during the first two weeks of classes, though.

Reason Number 1. The class is too big. Imagine a Grade 1 class of 46 students. Well, this numer is common in the public school, but she is enrolled in a private school and so I, too would want to march to the principal’s office and complain on this.

Reason Number 2. Her classmates are very noisy. Hahaha, I wanted to laugh at this statement but my child is generally the silent-type and so she sometimes got irritated with so much noise. But, this time she became accustomed to the noise. She still maintains her calmness, though.

Reason Number 3. Her teacher is giving her a hard time. Well, this was only true during the first week of class, since they had spelling most of the time and she committed a lot of mistakes as the spelling words given to them are those that contain mute sounds. Example, giggle, tickle, etc.

And so one night last week, while we were having our nocturnal ritual in the bedroom, I heard my daughter telling her younger brother that he should love his school.

“I don’t like my new school, Red. I wanted to transfer to another school, but because Mommy said that she had already paid for my tuition so I really don’t have a choice anymore.”

I felt sorry for my child and was really guilty over saying those things. I am just super relief when finally she is enjoying her new school and her new classmates and although they are crowded in that little room, she has gained many friends and could even memorize the half of her classmates already.

Well, good start for a first grader.

His topic

It has always been my ritual with the kids to talk about the day’s happening before retiring to sleep. Kids really love this time of the night as they would compete with each other as to who will talk first. As always the boy wanted to be in the center of attention and would sometimes not allow her older sister to talk. If the boy feels that he is being outsmarted by the girl, he would surely cover his sister’s mouth with his small hands and war and wailing will probably start, yet we love doing this always.

When school started, it has become my wont to ask them what happened in school. During the first week, I could never contain their excitement as they would babble words just to share their experiences in school.

But it was different on Monday this week, when we arrived home from school, the boy immediately showed me his work and boasted on the star he got from his teacher. That was a very good start, I thought.

And then I went to our room and laid down for a while. The little boy followed suit. I thought he wanted to talk but when he saw me lying on the bed, he attempted to leave and so I called him and beckoned him to talk with me.

He jumped to the bed and said, “Okay, let’s talk but not about school.”

I was dumbfounded with this statement. Must he be getting tired of school already? I just hope not.

Changed
Posted by yeng at 1:51 am in mom's thoughts

img_1040.JPGMy daughter is already attending grade schools. She is in her first grade in a Catholic school and it is about five kilometers from home. During her first week in school, she was accompanied by her Tita Bing. But the school does not allow guardians and parents to stay inside the school and so we decided to fetch her to and fro school and be with her during lunch break. My husband and I have been doing this for two days already and  we are still adjusting to our new sked since it is really hard to travel at noon time. We arte still in the process of experimenting everything.

Yesterday, we took our lunch a bit earlier and then today. We then decided to take our lunch with our child but we were not able to this since there were no available tables in the canteen during lunch time and so we just let the child eat inside their classroom. We took our lunch a little bit later and we were starving and so we decided that we should take our lunch first before going to the school. As of now, I really still don’t know what will work for us, but the idea of being able to check my daughter in her school every day was very fulfilling.

Am I being read?
Posted by yeng at 7:59 am in networks, mom's thoughts

A writer’s greatest question and even apprehension is - ” Do I have a reader?” That’s the idea of having a blog where you let the whole world who is connected in the internet to read your thoughts.

It was so hard for me to get started having a personal blog since I am actually sharing the whole me to the world. I could have a diary if I wanted to write but the thought of having readers is very exciting especially when they leave comments on your posts. It is more exciting too when you get to know the people who visited your sites and to know where these people come from.

I am just a small time blogger whose target is just to express my thoughts through this personal blog, yet I want to know those people who showed interests in my thoughts . How much more if you are a big company and whose target is to be able to track down those people who might get interested in you. Surely you don’t want to miss the chance of knowing these individuals and of reaching back to them. No problem with that anymore , with this new brand reputation monitoring software , surely you will be able to track down your visitors. This will help you know those who visited you and will also inform you through e-mail new sites and discoveries that might help you to look for prospectives clients.

F or further information, why not visit their site.

The need to have fresh air
Posted by yeng at 11:14 pm in wishes

fresh-air-big.jpgDuring our over-night visit to my husband’s family’s province, my kids did really enjoyed their little advneture with nature. Used to the city life, they had the fun of their lives especially their experience in the river.

My daughter who was the more observant one uttered a remark on the fresh air she breathed in the province and with a sigh she said that if she could only bring the air in our house then she would be very happy and Red, her little brother would no longer have asthma attacks.

I was touched by her great concerns over her little brother and then I pondered she was after all right since we no longer enjoy fresh air in the city. Yes, if we could only bring this fresh air inside our home then maybe these kids would be really free of the illness brought by pollution.

These days, it is relly possible to bring that fresh air inside our home with EcoQuest International. With their products one would really feel that he is enjoying the fresh air in his very own home.

And I wish I could have this too in my house.

My entrepreneur
Posted by yeng at 10:38 pm in daddy's views

When I was away from home last summer to attend a seminar, my dear hubby sent me an SMS telling that the place that we had occupied before for our business was vacant and he wanted to rent it again so we could revive our business. But I told him that it was not the proper time to talk about it since I was away and we need to sit and to talk about it.

Back home he told me that he has changed his mind. The reason he wants to learn more about running a business first before jumping to a new one, and so he started reading websites that would help him out.

He shared to me this learning he acquired and was really impressed with the several ideas he learned from these sites, that he even wanted to but that book written by Dennis C Carey.

The book is all about running a company, although we won’t be running our own company, but to small scale enterpreneur like us it would be very helpful since it will guide us to handle our staff.

I know this is still a dream to be fulfilled but in three to five years from now, we may start again our business and by that time we would probably be ready.

And he loves the river…
Posted by yeng at 10:13 pm in kid's quotes

“Daddy, I want to go back to the very big swimming pool,” thus uttered my son when we visited my husband’s family’s farm in Davao Oriental and he was referring to the river.

It was not actually wide neither it is deep, actually just deep enough to cover a big man’s feet but big enoug, I mean in his own words very big enough for him to enjoy and swin in the river which he calls a big swimming pool.

He said it was cold but he loves rolling on the river and would never really stop. It worried his granny so much because of some bacteria brought by the river but we just let the kid play on the water. Anyway we don’t have it here in the city and we visit the province once in a year only.
