What great way to enhance our kids education than to take them to places and let them see for themselves how awesome the world around them is.  A more holistic approach to education promises a well-grounded child able to grasp the concepts introduced to him by tangible and eye-opening experiences brought about by learning outside the four walls of the classroom.

A few months back, I accompanied my son to his Lakbay Aral as part of his school curriculum. First stop was to a pencil factory where first through third graders were given a brief lecture and a tour to the Monggol Factory, AMSPEC, in Paranaque.Afterwhich we proceeded to Manila Ocean Park where the kids get to enjoy amazing sites of sea creatures of all size and shapes.

Manila Ocean Park is said to be the “first world-class marine themed park to adopt a fusion concept - bringing together in one complex an Oceanarium, a mall, a restaurant row, boutique hotel, open water marine habitats and multi-purpose function facilities”.

We then proceeded to Museong Pambata where the kids are get a hands-on discovery, satisfying their ever growing curiosity of the  things around them.

The kids went home tired yet happy and the parents like me are inpired with the kind of approach of the educators to teaching children, with their deligence in seeking the best and exploring  effective ways of reaching out to the kids’ young minds.
