Fit to be Tied
“When I was twenty-four and he, twenty-eight, love and unbridled optimism convinced us that we were more than ready to become ideal spouses. We were, and so we believed, fit to be tied. Five years after into the marriage, we had been initiated into reality many times over. Fights and frustrations had led to anguish and anger. We had had it. We were fit to be tied.
Now as we are approaching a decade of being together, we are less idealistic than we were in our honeymoon stage but far happier than we were within the first seven years. We have jumped hurdles and learned lessons. And most importantly we learned to include Christ being the center of our marriage. We are in for a rough ride still..but Praise be to God who is ever faithful to his promise of seeing us through good times and the bad. And I may be so naive now in saying this but I say it just the same.. Allan and I are really fit to be tied.
