CONGRATULATIONS to our “Pambansang Kamao” Manny a.k.a Pacman Pacquiao for bringing home the bacon! Manny is indeed a legendary boxer! He’s now the 1st Filipino and 1st Asian who’s now holding 4 World Champion Titles namely; Flyweight, IBF Super Bantam Weight, Super Feather Weight and WBC Lightweight Division. He took the last mentioned belt from David Diaz. A mexican World Boxer Champion from Chicago who’s a tough guy for withstanding Manny’s furious punches until the ninth round.

The boxing event which is Lethal Combination happened in Madalay Bay, Nevada. Manny, his coach and his team are all joyous because Manny did what was told and taught to him during the practice. Our Filipino boxer finally showed what he got as preparation for his opponent. The fight was cool! Manny has only lite physical damage. He only had a bruised hand because of his strong attacks that hit Diaz head many times.

Currently the rescue operation for MV Princess of the South is already suspended! There’s a shift of plan! No more diving activity will be done to get those dead bodies. The reason is because of the poisonous chemical that was present in the ship! The Del Monte Philippines had informed the authorities that a cargo which was drown into the water with the ship is containing 10,000 kilos of endosulfan chemical! A poisonous and highly toxic pesticide. It only needs a very small amount which is equivalent to only 8 milligram to kill someone who is affected with it. Our central nervous system will be the most damaged area in human body.

They come up with a new plan which is the retrieval of that 40-foot container van.Yesterday divers were sent to Medical Institutions to undergo check ups for their own safety. That was a pre-cautionary measures to make sure that the people helping with the rescue and diving activity are not at risk.

I felt pity on the families and relatives of the victims of MV Princess of the Stars that sank last Saturday. I can feel their agonies and sadness in their hearts while watching them on TV screens. Most of them are saying that Sulpicio Lines is taking very slow in keeping them updated with the latest happenings in Romblon and Cebu. The promise that they will be taken to Cebu to personally identify their love ones didn’t happen. Until now, the Sulpicio left them hanging with the current development.

Sulpicio Lines explained their side. According to their representative, they just don’t want to give unverified informations to the families of the victims. They wanted to have correct and exact informations before passing it to them. As of now, they have already sent the Forensic Experts of NBI from Manila that will do DNA Sampling with the dead bodies for identification. Each dead body will spend Php20,000 during the process which is quite expensive.

Thank you to Red Cross Team, DSWD and other helpful organization present to give support to the families and relatives of the victims. Emotionally they’re test to prepare themselves for them not to have heart attacks due to extensive emotions.

Today is the 5th day of rescue mode of Philippine Coastguards. It’s members are trying their best to get some survivors due to the air pockets that they saw inside the sunken MV Princess of the Stars. If we’ll talk on miracles, perhaps they can find some but scientifically speaking it’s impossible to have survivors. The chances of getting them is very very small. There’s still no go signal to make a hole with the ship. The coastguards are not authorized to do it. Not unless they are told to do so. If that idea is put into action they have to be careful in doing it not to damage the fuel tank.

One by one they took out from the water vessel the 10 dead bodies and bring those to Cebu which is closest to Romblon where the accident happened. Fishermen around the area are willing to help but they are not allowed to participate in search and retrieval operation done by Coastguards. Those fishermen don’t have diving gears and its too dangerous for them to get inside the ship! They don’t want to have additional victims if ever these fishermen will meet accidents while diving the sunken ship.

I just knew that MV Cebu Princess which is the sister ship of MV Princess of the Stars had left Tacloban on Saturday to rescue them but they were unable to make it. When they arrived, they were already late because the ship was already overturned! The attempted rescue was unsuccessful.

Today, rescue team and divers revealed that they had found 15 dead people floating in economy section of the ship. Unfortunately they haven’t gotten those corpses. They had a hard time on pulling them down and bring them out because of the things that blocked their way.However, they already put an oil boom that prevents the continuous flow of oil into the sea and to trap dead bodies that may come out while divers are off duty. Coral reefs should be protected since the sunken ship is very close to it.

The first idea of making a hole on the ship was carefully studied and it was found out that the ship is stable, settling on sea bed so it’s safe to do the said plan.If they do that, the possibility that the ship will continue to submerge is negative.That will make the rescue easier and faster.

In San Fernando, Romblon rescue teams and divers are trying their best to look for possible survivors from the sunken ship MV Princess of the Stars. The water vessel has been there for 3 days now. It’s 2 km away in Sibuyan Island. Divers and coastguards admitted that they had a hard time in searching for more dead bodies. It’s very dark inside the ship, there were broken glasses and many floating objects that hinder their way.They believed that there’s a large number of trapped passengers.

We are worried now on gasoline that is thrown to the sea that comes out from the huge vessel. Oil spill is expected to happen. Some suggested that they’re going to make a hole with the ship in order to do faster and easier way of taking out the corpses. But this idea was discouraged because if they’re going to pursue it that will make the ship sink up to 120 feet deep. Half of the the overturned ship is laid above a big rock I guess and it was equally balance that we can see MV Princess of the Stars’ butt on the surface of the water.

Lately typhoon Frank had struck the country mainly in Luzon and Visayas. Certain regions were very much affected with it. Classes were suspended, light and water facilities were disabled, houses and other infrastructures were destroyed and some roads were closed. But the worst thing that happened recently was the tragedy that happened to MV Princess of the Star. The vessel which was owned by Sulpicio Shipping Lines sank in Romblon last Saturday between 10:30-11:30 am. It is believed that the ship sank due to engine trouble. On the other hand, most people believe that it was due to bad weather condition. In spite of the typhoon Signal #1 the coast guard allowed MV Princess of the Star to sail in ranging seas because they were confident of its size and so they gave a clearance.

The ship has 862 passengers including the 111 crews. As of today, there are only 38 listed survivors and 7 were confirmed dead. The rest were missing. Government officials and other related agencies are having their investigation to help identify who’s going to be blamed of the said accident. They are interogating the coast guards if they had done their duties. Some thought that the captain had miscalculated their voyage because they were hit by the heavy blow!

People’s champ Manny Pacquiao has an upcoming boxing event this month! He’ll be fighting with an American-Mexican boxer David Diaz   in  WBC Light Weight Division. Last March 15 Manny fought with Juan Manuel Marquez. Manny asked for their rematched and he succeeded with it. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is the 1st Asian and Filipino champion in 3 Division. Now if he’ll win against David Diaz he’ll become a 4th time world champion.

The upcoming and most-awaited boxing even will happen in June 29. I’m not yet sure about the venue. I’ll just put the additional details later. As of now, Manny is very busy on his daily routine and practice for his current fight with David.

A boxing analysts said that a true champion in boxing has no fear of the punches of his opponent. The more he accepts a heavy fight the more challenged he can be.  And he was referring to people’s champ Manny Pacquiao.

After the nine-day captivity, ABSCBN senior correspondent Ces Drilon was very happy that they were successfully freed last Tuesday night together with his camera man Jimmy Encarnacion and and MSU (Mindanao State University) professor Octavio Dinampo. Drilon’s Asst. camera man Angelo Valderama was first released on June 12. Valderama’s released gave hope that the rest will also be freed. Senator Loren Legarda helped the release of the victims. From Sulu a chopper brought them to Zamboanga bound for Manila. An intense negotiation happened for their release.

It is said that the people behind this event are the Abbu Sayaff. Personally speaking we don’t know if this event was just a show or drama or this serves as an action against Meralco which happens to be owned by Lopez family, the same family who own the Broadcasting Network ABSCBN. Perhaps there are also prominent people who are engaged in this activity. According to many people if it was really the Abbu Sayyaf they won’t easily gave up to them.

It feels great when we hear compliments coming from foreigners. Whenever I hear good words from them I feel one step higher with our dignity. I  can smile of course if I don’t hear them say that Philippines is a dangerous country because of the terrorist living and existing in Mindanao!Lately we knew the ABSCBN News Team was kidnapped spearheaded by anchor woman Ces Drilon.She was with her camera man Jimmy Encarnacion and professor Octavio Dinampo.

The fact that Philippines belong to 3rd World Countries, it’s not surprising when some people around the world don’t recognize my country. It hurts that Filipinos are known to be exporting human resources. I don’t know if that will still change in the coming years. I guess its a mean of our survival.

The labor force that are given by every Filipino other countries is highly appreciated. I am proud to every Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who sacrificed their own comforts in the country as well as their families.

Their contribution to Philippine economy is remarkable. It shouldn’t be forgotten. They’re responsible for making a better Philippines through the amount of dollar they’re investing!

In the variety show “Wowowee”, an American said that what he loves in the country are its people, the hospitality and the humor the Filipinos have in spite of poverty. He really admires my country with the places he’d been with his family and I like him for saying all those things world wide.
