Last night I finished reading Let’s Roll by Lisa Beamer. You might recall that Todd Beamer was instrumental in preventing the hijackers from crashing into the Capitol on September 11, 2001. Lisa lost the father of her two little boys and little girl who was to be born the next January.

As I was reading this book I had an extra sense of patience and love toward my husband. Why? Because I was more aware of the fact that I don’t know when God might choose to take him home. I’m not trying to be morbid, but what if we were to live each day as though it were our last day with our husbands?

If you knew this was your last day with your husband what would you do differently?

Would you hug him a few seconds longer than usual?

Would you look into his eyes when he talks to you?

Would you hold back those hurtful words?

Would you cook his favorite meal?

What would you do differently if you knew?

Why not live each day as though it was our last? Not in fear or sadness but full of joy because we have this moment–right here, right now.
