How to be happy!

Published by darnet under Tips

While people have many and varied goals that they pursue, there is an almost universal underlying goal to virtually all pursuits: the goal to be happy. People who spend a lot of time making money generally do so because they believe that the money itself will make them happy, or will guard them against things that will make them unhappy. If the focus isn’t on the money, but on the jobs that bring the money, those jobs are generally thought to make people happy. People strive for that perfect relationship, the perfect house, the beautiful body, the approval of others, all in an attempt to be happy. Sometimes these things make us happy; other times, we stress over not having reached our goals, or we reach them and find that we’re still not happy. Other times, we focus so intensely on one goal that’s thought to bring happiness that we don’t have time for other things in our life that will make us truly happy. This can all be confusing, and begs the question: how does one reach the goal of being happy? The following is a step-by-step guide that can help you explore the current state of your life, assess how truly happy you are, and find a direction to work toward that will likely bring more happiness. You’ll also find resources and tips for reaching your happiness goals and setting new ones.

How to fight depression

Published by darnet under Uncategorized

One of the most destructive states for your mind and body is depression. It is a phenomenon that affects millions of people around the world, no matter the culture. The triggering elements of depression are infinite, and they vary case to case. External and inner factors often attack our mind and body together, making depression a profoundly negative aspect in our lives. Let’s take a look at some great tips to conquer the negative mood and get the most joy out of our daily routine.

  1. Go outside. A nice spring day can cheer up even the saddest person. But staying out in the sun is beneficial for more than just poetic and emotional reasons. Sunlight has an important role in many chemical processes taking place in our body. Lack of sunshine triggers the release of melatonin, a hormone that produces a feeling of lethargy and tiredness. This hormone is only created in the dark — this is why winter also brings more depression, as the sun is hidden and the nights are long. All year round cloudy weather may trigger the same negative effects. If you live in such an area try to get away somehow a few times during the winter season and go where you can enjoy the sun. If you don’t live in one of those SAD areas, finding reasons to go outside is easy: practice a sport, go fishing, try hiking, do some gardening.

  1. Get involved. An active life leaves very little room for depression. You tend to let negative feelings dominate your mood when you reach a point of constant and repetitive analysis of problems. Involving yourself in several inspiring activities will greatly reduce times of feeling sorry for yourself. Maybe you are depressed because you failed to reach an important milestone towards a goal. Don’t get discouraged. Try to pursue that goal right away or, if it is completely compromised, find a different goal to strive for.

  1. Allow some time for relaxation. Have fun and relax your mind and body. When negative thoughts start circling, shift your focus to a pleasant element. It can be a person, a location, something around you, or even a distant memory. Clear your head of all the negative feelings and all your worries.

  1. Balance your diet and take care of your fitness. Try to lower your intake of alcohol and caffeine. After the momentary boost of these stimulants is gone you will only feel worse and get addicted to wanting even more. Some good physical exercise will never do you any harm and helps beat the addiction. The fitter you are, the more self-esteem you’ll experience and this will eventually lead to happiness.

  1. Socialize. No matter how difficult it might seem to get out of the house and smile in the company of others, this is probably the most effective way of getting over depression. Socializing is essential for all of us and you should see it as a fun activity, not an obligation. Select some friends that have always made you feel better and reconnect with them.

Hebrews 11:6

Published by darnet under Verses

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

 Hebrews 11:6

Prayer is a wonderful privilege.  It is talking with the God of the whole universe!  When we have accepted Christ as our Savior, we are now children of God and our heavenly Father loves to have us talk with Him. We can tell God we love Him.We can thank Him for His blessings. We can praise Him for His greatness. We can be silent and listen to God speak in our hearts.

We can pray for people that we love and care for.

We can ask God to save those who do not know Him.We can ask Him to provide for our needs. It is wonderful to talk with God.  Each day it is a good idea to take special time to talk with God — to spend time with Him — and to listen to Him.  God loves you and loves to spend time with you.

John 14:27

Published by darnet under Verses

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”John 14:27 (NIV)God’s peace. How can you have God’s peace in the midst of a storm? When Jesus was with His disciples in a boat, a great storm came over them. Even in the midst of the storm, Jesus slept peacefully. If you have a crisis in your life — if you have problems — if you have issues with your family — Jesus is with you. He can give you His peace — peace in your heart — even in the midst of a storm. Here are three things you can do to experience God’s peace:

  1. Make sure you know that Christ is your Savior — that He is with you “in the boat.”
  2. Release your problem to Him — put it in His hands. You can trust that He will answer your prayers!
  3. Ask His Holy Spirit to fill you with the presence of Jesus each and every day.
