Attention: Google Penalizes Websites and Webpages
Posted by admin at 1:05 pm in articles

We all know how the search engine giant Google has made things a lot easier in looking for whatever you need around the net. However, the current use today for such service is being abused by many by using different methods. This include spamming, link farming, doorway pages and many more.

Many sites are already being penalized, some totally banned from the google search engine. Some experience a lowering of page rank, gradually until it goes down to zero.

As it is discouraging for many, there are ways to cooperate with the search engine company as they themselves give their service for free. The main idea is for your site to provide quality content that caters to your audience.

If you’re asking why your page’s location in the search results lower than before, click here.

For Hugsmilers, the following tips can be of use to you:

1. Do not crowd a page with loads of links. If possible, posts with multiple links must be distributed around the blog archive. This means putting up entries without links in between posts with links. A simple test is to take a look at your site and ask if is it too crowded with links. If you think so, try changing the timestamps of posts to distribute posts among pages. Some sites are being checked not just by programs (bots) but by humans.

2. Do not overcrowd your blogroll. Excessive cross-linking is discouraged.

3. Remove the following terms or the like:

  • paid links
  • paid post
  • paid content
  • sponsored post
  • sponsored links
  • advertisement
  • post for money
  • hire me
  • review me

from posts and especially from categories. The principle is to make every post as homogeneous and relevant as all the other posts.

This is a collaborative effort for the Admin does not want to deliberately delete your blog without warning (3 warnings).

So that’s it.

Let us all keep that green bar moving :)

Create Your Blog in Seconds
Posted by admin at 1:47 am in articles

What used to be a personal site, catering to close friends and loved ones opens its doors to the world. Yes, Hugsmiles.com offers you a blog hosting for free with few clicks of a button.

Here’s how:

  1. Click here or the box on the upper part of the right sidebar.
  2. Enter your Username , Email Address and the  Verification Code provided. This verification code (a combined graphic display of numbers and letters) are used to avoid spam registrations.
  3. Toggle whether you want to have  a blog  or just a username. A blog allows you to have a page of your own where you can author posts. A username on the other hand gives you access to the main site only according to the capabilities that the administrator has allowed you to have. If you register with a username only, your default “role” in the main site is subscriber, unless otherwise specified by the administrator.
  4. Click Next. If you chose to have a username only, you would have to validate your registration through the email sent to you when you clicked the “next” button. If you chose to have a blog, continue with the procedure.
  5. On the Blog Name, you can change the default directory/url/site address of your blog. Change it if you like.
  6. Place your Blog Title.
  7. Untoggle Privacy if you do not want your blog to appear in search engines and public listings. Leaving it toggled / selecting it allows your blog to be easily searched and accessed by people who might be interested in reading your articles, allowing your blog to “grow” and “mature” faster in the blogosphere.
  8. Select the Blog Category that you think suits your blog best.
  9. Click Signup.
  10. An email will be sent to the registered email you used. Please use that email to verify your account. Often, emails from sites like this end up in bulk mails or as Spam so please double check your emails in case you don’t receive any as this feature should not take too much time before the email is sent. Contact the administrator for urgent concerns.
  11. When all is well, you will be provided with username and password by the site and where to login.

Have fun!
